When you go to Yogyakarta, you must not forget to visit the historical sites. There are many temples in Yogyakarta, buy the famous one is Prambanan Temples. The distances around 17 km from the city.
The ticket is around IDR 30.000 for prambanan only, or there is a package Prambanan + Ratu Boko Palace for IDR 45.000.
1. Prambanan Temples Complex.
Prambanan temple is a complex consisting of many small temple. Before you getting in to the temple, you will be given batik cloth, you must wear it. You can climb inside the big temple, but you must use the helm.
After you climb the stairs, you will see small street surrounding the temple.
Inside the temple, there are always a statue. Each temples has a different statue inside.
In small temple, you can visit it without helm.
In prambanan, at least there are 240 temples in there and I recommend you use the bus train to travel around prambanan complex. the ticket is IDR 7.500/person. (Latest Update April 2014)
They will let you stop in someplace so you can take a picture.
Cause I travel alone, I need help from another tourist to take a picture of me, thanks….
After you are satisfied walking around prambanan, for you that buy package ticket with ratu boko palace, you can take a shuttle bus to go there. It took 15 minutes from prambanan complex.
If you go to prambanan or ratu boko palace, I think you shouldn’t use heels. The place is very wide and rather far from the entrance.
2. Ratu Boko Palace.
There is two gates that will welcome you in ratu boko, here is the first gate…

After you walked through the second gate, you have two choices, turn right if you want to go to the castle ruins and turn left if you want to climb the hills. My first choice was to go to castle ruins. you need to walk this far to reach it. (hu…hu….hu….)
Ah…at lease, I reach the ruins….

if you walk around the ruins , you will find the wells with different water colors. check it out !
